Harlem Middle Class Survives Gentrification PDF Print E-mail
The Recent revitalizition of Harlem, including the Rising Real Estate prices has led many long term residents in  Harlem to worry that Gentrification  of their neighborhood  will push them out. It has already been shown that the middle class in Harlem can still live there and keep the traditional values of Harlem.

Even though it appears that there are Condo's  being built all over to push the old time residents out of Harlem,  only certain areas are designated for this purpose. A number of developers that are currently developing in Harlem are mindful of Over-Gentrification and the need of its residents. A generation ago, the middle class in the 1970's  & 1980's were moving to the suburbs from Harlem and from the city overall. Presently, the people who have built their careers and had moved away from the city are coming back to the community to keep the old traditions of Harlem alive.
